Outreach Activities
VAW Global Health Alliances

VAW is an organization that encourages sustainable and equitable relationships with various communities through health services. Through VAW, I will be traveling to Cusco, Peru in July on a service trip to provide dental care in a low-middle income country. This experience will provide me with opportunities to learn as a future dentist while giving back to the community. I will also be able to utilize my Spanish speaking skills in this country, which is very important to me and allows me to combine my skills in both language and science.
Samaritan Dental Clinic

Samaritan Health Clinic is a nonprofit organization that provides outpatient healthcare to medically underserved individuals in the South Carolina upstate area. In my time at Clemson, I have been able to volunteer in the free dental clinic, providing me with hands-on patient care experience while also allowing me to give back in the community. This nonprofit recognizes that oral care is a critical component of overall health and lack of access to this care can lead to serious issues later on. This clinic has served hundreds of patients and has been able to make a very significant impact on the community.
VA Primary Care & Dental Clinic

Beta Beta Beta

Tri Beta is a nationally recognized Biological Honor Society that requires admission through a recruitment process. It is a professional society for students of superior scholastic achievement who express aptitude and interest in the life sciences. It encourages new discoveries through scientific investigation and research. Through being a part of this society, I was able to serve on its executive board with a position on the membership committee, allowing me to help organize and lead the recruitment process as well as encourage other STEM students to join.
Chi Omega

Chi Omega was founded in 1895 based on the principles of friendship, high standards of personnel, high levels of scholarship, participation in campus activities, career development, and community service. It is one of the three oldest greek organizations on Clemson's campus. Being a part of Chi Omega has been one of the most impactful experiences Clemson has brought me. Not only did it provide me with an amazing community of girls, but it provided me with community service, DEI, and leadership opportunities. I was able to show my skills as a leader as I served in two different positions on the executive board: the Recruitment Chair and the Secretary. Serving as recruitment chair involved me planning, organizing, and executing all of formal recruitment including managing multiple teams, having countless meetings, leading workshops, and speaking at and running every round of recruitment. Serving as secretary involved me monitoring the chapter's attendance at all major events and keeping track of excuses as well as keeping minutes for all meetings. Overall, Chi Omega has provided me with countless opportunities and allowed me to thrive as a leader.
